Exploring Switzerland during winter is an iconic trip of a winter in Europe. Find the incredible views that make this such a wonderful place to visit whilst exploring the winter sports. Switzerland is home to one of the best sledding routes in the area, allowing you to suit up and take a thrill ride back down into the valley. And it is no secret that the Switzerland winter offers the most scenic view – they are almost completely in a league of their own. Additionally, one of our favourite things about Swiss winters are the atmospheric Christmas markets that spring up everywhere at this time, lending a festive cheer to the air and presenting us with the perfect opportunity to get a taste of Swiss culture.

FRANCE (THE ALPS) – The Winter Sports

The French Alps are home to iconic snow-capped peaks that combine the charming old towns and impeccable ski slopes cater to every traveller who wants to spend quality time in this scenic wonderland. With 180 lifts, 600 km of skiing on 330 marked pistes, The 3 Valleys in the northern French Alps is the world’s largest connected ski area. Ski from Courchevel through to Méribel, up to Val Thorens and down to Les Menuires before making a quick turn around to get all the way back to your cosy catered chalet.

Zurich

Welcome to Zurich

Christmas in Zurich is a magical spectacle: countless picturesque Christmas markets,  cozy fondue chalets, and traditional events such as candle dipping at Bürkliplatz, the “Marlitram” fairy tale tram, or Conelli Christmas Circus enthrall visitors of all ages. The city is known for its  to top-level cuisine or cultural activities with the Great shopping and a vibrant nightlife range from various of clubs, bars, and excellent live music, guarantee plenty of fun in the cold months.

Zurich Food Scene on Foot

Visit the most popular restaurants with local residents and get a feel for Zurich´s dining and drinking culture as your guide explains the story behind the city´s ‘culinary revolution´ and the transformation of Zurich-West from an industrial area to a cultural hotspot.

Outdoor Ice Skating

Built in 1930, the Dolder open-air ice rink is one of the largest of its kind in Europe and enthralls ice-skating enthusiasts from both home and abroad.

The ice rink is situated next to the Dolder Grand Hotel, overlooking the city, nestles in a beautiful winter landscape. From the city, the Dolderbahn train goes up the hill, through the forest and out into a tiny, icy cosmos – with a beautiful ice rink for ice-skating, Bavarian curling, curling, snow sculptures, and occasionally even an ice disco. An unparalleled experience for one and all.

Zurich on half day

As the largest city in Switzerland, wander around with your guide by its crystal-clear river that runs through the historic centre and a glacial lake surrounded by mountain peaks.  As we stroll through the pleasant pedestrian area, visit the patriarchal guild houses, St. Peter church with Europe’s largest clock-face, the “Grossmünster” church and the “Fraumünster” church with the stained glass windows by Marc Chagall.

Lucerne in Winter

Enjoy a 2.5 hour guided walking tour strolling along Lake Lucerne’s most panoramic vistas. Observe old wooden chalets, grand villas and historic castles while learning about their famous residents. Habsburg rulers, Russian bankers, an eccentric heiress, German princes, French textile magnates and American oil billionaires have called Lake Lucerne home.

Montreux

Welcome to Montreux

Situated on the edge of Lake Geneva and at the foot of the alps, Montreux is a small resort town in the Vaud canton of Switzerland with a huge amount to offer.

Winter in Montreux means one thing: Christmas celebration.  Montreux completely transforms itself in preparation for this Christmas event. For a whole month of December , the city is decked and decorated to celebrate the Christmas festival in style. There are medieval markets, Father Christmas makes an appearance, and the Château hosts a fairytale festival. Nearby Caux also transforms into an authentic and mesmerising portrayal of a Christmas village.

Aside the Christmas festival, the Montreux Riviera is best known for its long lake shore, where you can breathe fresh air and view amazing scenery from practically anywhere.

Journey by drive to Courchevel is a road of stunning picturesque as you pass into France, cruise around the majestic lake Annecy, and wind your way up in altitude before arriving in Courchevel.

First time skiers or beginners will enjoy Courchevel ski resorts which have plenty of good areas to practise. Over 60% of the areas are designed for beginners, making it one of the widest areas for new skiers.

Husky Sledging

Nothing beat a traditional alpine activity than to give Husky Sledging a try. Great for people of all ages and a brilliant way to see more of a ski resort. Go through woods, up and down hills and under tree around the Courchevel for 40mins.

Snowmobile Safari

A thrilling activity and escape after ski. See the mountain in different way. find ourselves at an altitude of 2300 meters under the starry sky of Courchevel driving your own snowmobile with a guide offering you breathtaking views.

Tobogganing

Running from 1850 to 1550 the luge run here is great fun for all ages. This exhilarating sledge run is 2 km long with over 300m of vertical drop! The run is well lit from start to finish allowing people to descent in the evenings.

Après Ski

Courchevel is known for both the quality and variety of après ski. An après ski is the social activities and entertainment after ski. Being the most glamorous ski village in the world, there are a number of slope-side bars that tend to offer après ski during the afternoon.
