Summer is the best time to explore Iceland, which is rich in natural landscapes such as mountains, glaciers, waterfalls, hot springs, and lava fields. From June to early September, travelers can get to some of Iceland's famous sites more easily as the snow and ice covering the roads have melted. Itinerary

Begin your journey

Day 01

Reykjavik Arrival

Upon arrival in Reykjavik, your private driver will meet you in the terminal and escort to your private luxury vehicle. Enjoy short transfer through the moonlike landscapes of Reykjanes Peninsula to the Retreat Hotel.

Day 02

Blue Lagoon

This morning you will be picked up and start the journey exploring the Golden Circle which consist of Geysir Geothermal area, Gullfoss Waterfall and Thingvellir National Park (Iceland’s greatest historical site and jewel of nature). A short ride across the fertile farmland in the south reveals the bearthaking Gulfoss “Golden” waterfall where traversing a narrow path provides close-up views of the thundering two-tiered cascade. The Geysir geothermal area is where hot springs are abundance, geyser explode and boiling pools of mud bubble. The neighbor there is Strokkur is very active, spouting water 30m up into the air in every few minutes in thrilling display of nature’s forces. Enroute you will stop at Fridheimar – a family run of tomato farm for lunch (choose and pay on the spot). Back to Hotel.

Day 03

Borgarfjordur

Today you will join your driver guide on an excursion to Borgarfjordur region in 1 hour and 30 minutes drive. Enroute stop by the spectacular Hraunfossar waterfalls (Lava waterfalls), a group of picturesque little waterfalls streaming over lava into a bright blue river. Visit Deildartunguhver geyser, Europe’s most powerful hot spring. Continue to Husafell – A pearl between lava fields and glaciers. Húsafell is one of the most visited destinations in Iceland. This is understandable since it is a unique natural gem in a magnificent landscape. The mild weather, the forest, hot springs and the facilities and services, which have been offered there to tourists in the recent years attract many visitors every year. Stop by Snorrastofa in Reykholt, a cultural and medieval center founded in memory of scholar Snorri Sturluson, a 13th century politician and author. He wrote the Prose Edda which has proved to be among the most influential of all myths and legends.

Day 04

Borgarfjordur - Vik

Today you will depart with your private driver guide driving south where you will explore the wonderful coastline. First visit at the spectacular waterfall Seljalandsfoss, which you can literally walk behind for a unique view of the waterfall. Next stop at nearby Skogafoss waterfall with its seductive scenery and legend of hidden gold. Skogafoss was recently seen in the first episode of the final series of Games of Thrones, although modified with visual effects to look multiplies. Nonetheless, nothing compares to the real-life experience. Stop at Dyrholaey promontory, famous for its natural arch and in conditions views of the black beaches around the village Vik, black lava columns Reynisdrangar and volcanos and glaciers of the area. It also serves as a bird sanctuary, most notably the puffins. Note that during this time access may be restricted due to nesting season. Walk on the black sands of Reynisfjara beach and explore the basalt columns located on the beach. Please note that the waves coming into the beach can be very strong, unpredictable and therefore extremely dangerous, so be very careful not to stand too close. Please follow all warning- and instructions signs on site. End your day in the small village of Vík.

Day 05

Jökulsárlón

Today you will head to the famous Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon where large icebergs float on the lagoon and curious seals might pop their heads up from the lagoon. Check out the so-called diamond beach close by before continuing onwards to the lesser known glacier lagoon Fjallsárlón. It is a stunnig glacier lagoon off the beaten track for a private boat tour on the lagoon. The scenery is unique. Vatnajökull, the biggest glacier in Europe outside the Arctic, towers over the mountains in all its glory and the glacier crawls down a steep slope until it reaches down to the water. At the edge of the glacier, icebergs break off into the lagoon and drift serenely around before melting.

Day 06

City Tour in Reykjavik

Today you will take a look the Lovely Harpa concert hall then walk to the Hallgrimskirkja church, the country’s largest at 74,5 meter high and unsuprisingly one of Reykjavik bestknown landmarks. Take a stroll around the wonderfull Einar Jonsson sculpture garden. And proceeding down Skolavordustigur Street, dropping into galleries and local retailers.

Day 07

Reykjavik Departure

Today you will be transferred to Reykjavik Airport to London for getting your flight back home and end the journey.
